Māori keen for doctors and healers to work together

The latest HRC Pānui reports on the findings of Glenis Mark's Postdoctoral research regarding Māori patients' perspectives on health, their experiences of rongoā Māori (traditional Māori medicine) and/or primary health services as well as their views on greater integration of the two systems of care. The research found that while Māori wanted the option of receiving treatment from both rongoā Māori healers and doctors, they were strongly in favour of healers and doctors collaborating on their health care outside of the treatment sessions.
